5 Israelis meet 5 Palestinians to discuss, debate, and negotiate different solutions to one of the most entrenched conflicts in the world. They have 5 sessions to reach a peace agreement. The negotiations are conducted in front of an audience, which is invited to participate in the peacemaking process.
The M.O.P.E. is a unique exercise in peacemaking and conflict resolution. It is a simulation of a potential Public Negotiating Congress. The exercise has multiple functions: illustrating the feasibility of developing a Public Negotiating Congress, helping to evaluate its potential outcomes, and building crucial public support for a potential accord. Our goal is to create a major Palestinian-Israeli Public Negotiating Congress in summer 2010.
